I'm Baaaaaack!!!!

Did you miss me? :p  What I mean by "I'm back" is that I'm back to running, back to physical activity, and "partly" back to blogging.

The last time I ran was March 6, which was the Susan G. Komen 5K race.  After that, no running or any form of exercise for almost a month!  Ok I went to yoga once and went on the elliptical twice, but that's about it.  No road running, no swimming, no cycling.  Bad bad athlete!

The weird thing is I actually lost weight.  I was afraid I was gonna gain some lbs. but I lost 2 lbs.  Does that mean I lost some muscle?

This whole wedding planning has really taken over my life.  I know I still have 5 months but I decided to make my own decorations, favors, invites, etc.  We are on a tight budget so everything in our wedding will be mostly DIYs.  That's ok.  I love a good challenge!  It means so much more when you put blood, sweat and tears into it.

Anyway, back to running....

It's April 1 today so I thought it would be the best time to get off my bum and start hitting the pavement once again.   Yes it's April Fools today too and I'm not joking.  I really ran today.  Honest!

I did an easy 3K.  I tell you...there was nothing easy about it!  I felt so tired.  Felt like my body really rested for a month.  I felt sluggish, hot, and dehydrated.  It's 79 degrees here today (READ: my excuse :p).

My triathlon is in June.  I just printed out my training plan to guide and motivate me.  I gotta start training this body to run once again.

How have you guys been?  I miss you all!

Julie

  1. Welcome back! Sounds like you've got a good excuse for a little break from the exercise routine. Your running mojo will come back quickly.

Based on some of the other blog entries I've read lately, you're not going to get much pity about it being 79 degrees :)
