Figure it Out!

source
Life can be complicated, frustrating, unfair and highly arbitrary, and that can make it extremely difficult to know what’s best to do. Yet you have the ability, and the opportunity, to figure it out.

Plenty of people will be happy to give you advice, and much of that advice can be quite valuable. No one, however, can consider that advice from your unique perspective and apply it to your life as well as you can.

If you always depend on someone else to tell you what to do, your life will be long on resentment and frustration, and short on fulfillment. To enjoy real success and achievement, you must spend the time and effort to figure it out for yourself.

It is a serious, essential responsibility, and if you choose to see it as a burden, it will be. Yet you can just as realistically choose to see it as an opportunity, for it is truly a powerful and amazing one.

The fact is, you are fully capable of taking the initiative and figuring out the strategic direction for your work and your life. Though you never have to go it alone, you must have your very own clear and unambiguous sense of direction to which you’re fully committed.

This is your life to live and your chance to create outstanding, meaningful and delightful value. Figure out what will move your own world forward, and find real joy and fulfillment in making it happen.

This was shared and I am passing it on!!

Motivation Monday

Woke up to a rainy day and thinking of my batch-mates from school who passed away.  Not a good way to start the week.  But I'm gonna workout.  I'm gonna run.  Must log in at least 4 miles today.  Start small.  Start somewhere.

The Workout...

The Motivation...

How many miles are you logging in today?

What motivates you?

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas...

My husband and daughter said there was no place for a tree this year. I was challenged! Us? Not have a tree? So not happening where I live! Haha! So, I "hacked/engineered" our 7 foot tree from last year and made it just 4ft just so it could fit in this corner -- the only free space in our apartment. I placed it on top of a box and covered it with a burlap tree skirt which I made myself.

Tadaaaa! We have a tree! A little late and a much smaller tree, but better than nothing. :) When the hubs saw it on Skype, he thought I bought another tree. Haha!

And this is a little Christmas vignette.  May add more if I find more space here in our apartment.

Workout and Weight-loss Update
Sunday is a rest day for me.  So I decided to cook Filipino comfort food called, Pork Sinigang, and bake some sugar cookies.  Uh-huh...Sunday is cheat day too! :p  I watched my daughter wolf down that Sinigang with 2 1/2 cups of rice! I wish I could still eat that much!

Been running, cycling, and working out for 3 weeks and I already lost 6lbs.  That means I've been losing 2lbs. a week.  Woot!  I just love training in this weather!  Don't you?

I'm really feeling the Christmas vibe already.  Now all I need is the hubs.  He'll be home in 9 days!  Can't wait!

Hope everyone is having a blessed Sunday!

Our Wedding and Other Excuses

It has been 6 months since my last entry!  So much has happened to me the past few months and I just couldn't find time to blog...or RUN - wedding preparations, relatives visiting, DIY projects, lost motivation, etc.    I was on a running, cycling, and any-kind-of-physical activity hiatus.  But before doing so,  I completed two triathlons.   Which went very well, by the way. =)

My url is back to hotlegsrunner.blogspot.com.  I wasn't able to renew my .com account and now another runner is using hotlegsrunner.com!  huhuhu!  =(  So kindly update your links.  And know that that is not me.

Anyway, Mike left for Manila a month ago coz he was asked to do a re-make of his soap opera (Valiente) which he starred in in the 90's.  It was a very good offer that he couldn't say no to.

So...with not much to do, I found myself running again.  Starting slow...doing short but sweet runs in this cool weather.  God, I missed it!

Anyway, I'm off to the gym.  Leaving you with this montage of our wedding. The song used in this montage is from the musical, Rent. Mike (Tom Collins) was part of this production in Manila and Singapore . He sang the duet with Ricci Chan (Angel).

Enjoy! =)

Please Help Bring Smiley to the U.S. (from Afghanistan)

I know this has nothing to do with running but I have a soft spot for animals...

Please read his story here - http://www.northcountrygazette.org/2011/06/26/smiley_home-2/

Any amount will do.  Even if it's just $1.  Every dollar counts!

As of this post, they already have $1,600.  They need to raise $2,400 more.  Yes, they need $4,000 to take him home.  Make sure you specify that it's for SMILEY.

Please read the article and I hope it somehow touches your heart.  Thanks in advance and God bless you!
