My name is Julie Eigenmann and I am a 30+ year old mother to a teenager and engaged to a wonderful man. I am currently based in California, though I was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. I am a dancer/teacher by profession. I belong to Manila's premier jazz dance ensemble, Hotlegs. Hence, my running nickname.
When I'm not dancing, I blog, cook, organize my home, take care of my family and do other domesticated stuff.
But at night, I RUN.
In November 1, 2009, I discovered my new found love and sport...Running. When I did my first 1.3K, my heart felt like it was going to explode. But that did not stop me. I ran almost everyday. I was hooked!
So far, I 've done 5K, 10K, 16K, some half marathons (21K) and two full marathons (42K). And I'm not gonna stop training until I can join my dream marathons: The top 5 Major Marathons (Chicago, NY, Boston, Berlin and London) and the Athens Marathon (oh to run in the original historical course!). My ultimate dream!
I also got into swimming later on and joined two aquathlons (swim-run). Then I got into cycling as well. The goal was to be a triathlete by the time I'm 40. I fulfilled this at age 37. T o date, I have done two triathlons.
This blog of mine will serve as my "running" diary. To note down and share all my running experiences and adventures to other runners out there. I hope to also help newbie runners get started and guide them through my own experiences. It will also serve as my health journal since I have also decided to eat the right foods and live a healthy life. Once in a while, I may inject topics about my other loves - fashion and interior design.
I am not a fast runner. I run at an average speed. I will probably never place in any race event. But, I am steady, consistent, blessed with never-ending stamina and will always run with my heart.

ReplyDeleteI hope that one day, you will be able to do the NY marathon. I am currently training for the 21k and 42k respectively using the 21 for training. Love your blog here as it is very informative and enjoyable. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHI, nice blog! I like the way you write. Doing the Athens Marathon is a good idea. That should be a close second to the Boston Marathon on my to do list. :-) Thanks and keep on running.
